We love Luna!!! As regulars for the past 6 years, my family picks Luna Rosa over every restaurant in Greenville. All of their menu items are fresh and delicious and always prepared to perfection. Special thanks to Jose for making toasted almond especially for me! Y'all are the best!

This little cafe is awesome. I have never been disappointed in any of the menu items. Their sauce and soups are seasoned just right, not overly salty! The service is always friendly. Their pizzas are very tasty. Their gelato is the best in the city as well as having the biggest variety. The lime is my favorite...cool n refreshing!

We stopped here for a bite to eat while exploring downtown visiting some friends. My husband picked this restaurant because of his enormous sweet tooth and I'm glad he did! Really clean place with nice intimate atmosphere, the seating area inside is not the biggest, but there's outdoor seating which is perfect for a nice day. We both ordered paninis which were really delicious. I got the meatball parmigiana and my husband got the prosciutto. We of course had to complete our meal with a gelato. It was absolutely delicious! Overall, I'm so happy we came here, the staff was friendly, the food and gelato were delicious, great local spot in Downtown Greenville!

If you think of gelato in Greenville, you think of Luna Rosa. Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, but the two are actually different.

According to thekitchn.com, gelato has a smoother, silkier texture than ice cream, and it’s made with more milk, less cream and fewer eggs compared with ice cream. Gelato is churned more slowly than ice cream, which removes more air and leads to a denser product.

Now that my lesson is over, I’ll get to the point: Luna Rosa’s gelato is simply excellent. It’s rich and flavorful without being too sweet and overwhelming — perfect for a hot day.

Flavors change on a rotating basis, but if you visit their website, you’ll see an updated list. Some of my personal favorites include chocolate velvet, strawberry basil and grapefruit. If you upgrade to two scoops, you can try two different flavors, which is an option I highly recommend.

A taste of Italy can be found in Downtown Greenville at the Luna Rosa Gelato Café. Located on West Washington off Main Street, Luna Rosa is a family-owned and -operated café that offers fresh, quality food. There’s a reason tripadvisor.com has named this café Greenville’s No. 1 restaurant for three consecutive years.
